Fabulous 1887 first edition copy completely intact. Presented with an accompanying letter of explanation from j e smith, the vestry clerk, concerning the engravings. We know of no other copy in existence. J e smith has also signed and inscribed the book. Also included is a newspaper cutting from the Westminster & pimlico news concerning a banquet and presentation at the town hall in recognition of the services of the vestry clerk Mr j e smith. This is dated ist December 1899.

Part 1, a copy of the 1824 edition. Part 2, 121 engraved plates. List of the overseers of the parishes from 1561 – 1887 & names of subscribers. Clean blue cloth decorated with gilt. Text tight, clean & intact. All edges gilt. Engraved illustrations. Spine ends & corners lightly rubbed. Front internal hinge with a paper tear. ; engravings; 4″ to 11″ – 13″ tall .
