This is a truly magnificent and rare longcase grandfather clock presented in good condition. It is sold in a fully working order with both winding and case keys. For generations, it has stood in the hallway of a huge country house in southwest England. The owners were called abroad and have remained there. Their furniture is now being sold. It has been kept carefully wrapped in storage and is available for delivery.

Circa 1755-1795

With roman hours and date dials, hand-painted ‘barge-ware’ style relief for spandrels; the twin train movement striking on a bell; with brass eagle finial surmounts above-turned columns, the case with shaped top door flanked by turned pillars, with inlaid panel. With weights, pendulum, winder, and case key.

We had no alternative due to the item size other than to photograph the clock in the storage premises but hopefully, the photos will do it justice! We do have further photographs so please do ask if required.

Dimensions:

The clock measures 248 cms in height overall and 66 cms in width to top cornice where the depth is 27 cms.

The width of the main body section is 42.5 cms with a depth of 17.5 cms.

The base section has a width of 57.5 cms with a depth of 25.3 cms.
